Embarking on the journey of embroidery is an exciting endeavor filled with endless creative possibilities. As a beginner, equipping yourself with the right tools is essential to dive into this beautiful craft with confidence and ease. Whether you're dreaming of delicate floral or whimsical designs, having the right supplies at your fingertips can make all the difference. In this guide, we'll unveil the top 10 essential embroidery tools every beginner needs to kick-start their stitching journey and bring their creative visions to life. From needles and hoops to threads and tracing tools, let's explore the must-have essentials that will set you up for success in the world of embroidery.

Clover Iron

I love how small it is and how hot it gets. It comes with a cute stand. Be very careful, you cannot touch anything but the white plastic handle. All the metal parts are super hot. I use this to fuse the backing on the inside of my embroidered items. Click the link under the picture to purchase!

Sweaters

I have a few favorites in this category. The first is a super soft sweater I purchased for my grandson. Now, you will have to use a fine needle because the lines are super small. I wouldn’t use chunky yarn on this sweater.

I love this next one because it is super chunky and really easy to embroider your design. This one is super beginner friendly.

Lion Brand Yarn

I love this company and all of their yarn. I used the Heartland yarn for fine lines and I use wool ease for the thicker embroidery.

Sulky Of America Cut Away Tender Touch Iron-On Backing White

This is great at sealing the back of your work. It protects the embroidery plus it is super soft on the skin.

Tapestry Needles and Large Eye Embroidery Needle

6. Bamboo Embroidery Hoops

I love that you get so many sizes in this bundle. I have needed every single one!

White Embroidery Fabric

This set comes with 12 sheets so you can practice so many stitches.

A Great Pair of Scissors.

You need sharp scissors to cut the Sulky sheets and to cut out designs from the internet that I use as templates.

9. Printer

A great printer so you can print designs and use them as templates. I just bought this printer because of the huge ink cartridges. This ink will last so long! It was super easy to set up and I can print anything from my phone in seconds!

10. Custom Clothing Labels

These add such a great touch to any finished project.
